GN800

GN800 High-Speed, Plug-Assist, Form-Cut-Stack Thermoformer

A roll-fed line with a multi-zone four-shot infrared oven, a forming station with top and bottom servo plugs, a separate cutting station and an up-stacker, with servo-driven platens throughout. It forms 150 mm above and below the sheet line with 75 tonnes of clamping and cutting force, and it can also cut in the mould. Options include a punch station, robotic or A/B and A/B/C stacking and a product lowering system.

Where it fits

The GN800 suits a higher-volume food-packaging producer running PET, CPET, PP, PS or PLA containers, lids and trays, where a separate forming and cutting station plus an up-stacker give more throughput, up to 60 cycles per minute, than a combined form-and-cut machine like GN's own GN3021DX. The 830 x 570 mm forming area and 75 tonnes of clamping and cutting force at each station suit a producer running larger parts or heavier tooling than a smaller line handles. A converter with lower volume needs or a smaller product range would be better matched to the GN3021DX, both built in Nova Scotia under GN's ownership by BMG.
