M-Shear 430-16
M-Shear
The M-Shear combines servo-electric motors with a hydraulic pump in a hybrid drive, which keeps it quiet and lowers energy use compared with a purely hydraulic shear. The control sets cutting angle and blade clearance automatically, corrects the knife-bar stroke when the angle changes, and allows programmable start and stop positions for shorter cuts. The 430-16 is the heaviest model, cutting 5/8 in mild steel over 169 in.

Where it fits
The M-Shear 430-16 suits a shop wanting the quiet running and lower energy use of a hybrid servo-electric and hydraulic drive over a purely hydraulic shear, at 5/8 in mild steel capacity over 169 in, the heaviest model in SafanDarley's M-Shear line. Automatic cutting angle and blade clearance setting, plus stroke correction when the angle changes, reduce operator adjustment on jobs with varying thickness, and programmable start and stop positions speed up shorter cuts. A shop cutting thinner sheet at lower volume would find this heaviest M-Shear model, and its 47,400 lb weight, more than needed and should compare a lighter shear such as the Baykal HGL 2606.
Confirm before you order
- Confirm stainless steel capacity and controller model directly with SafanDarley, since neither is published
- Check floor load rating supports the 47,400 lb machine weight
- Verify backgauge reach (49.2 in) covers the part depths the shop typically cuts
