About Kinetic

Kinetic is a maker of CNC plate cutting machines that dates its start to 1993 in New Zealand. Its international company, Kinetic Engineering Design Ltd, is based at 30 Triton Drive in Albany, Auckland. A New Zealand manufacturing trade profile names brothers Murray and Bruce Forlong as the founders, both qualified fitters and turners with engineering degrees, and describes a patented combination bevel cutter for contour bevel cutting.

Kinetic splits its markets by hemisphere: the New Zealand office serves the Southern Hemisphere and a US office serves the Northern Hemisphere. That US company, Kinetic Cutting Systems Inc., is on Zaiser Drive in West Burlington, Iowa, and Kinetic's own site names it as the contact for US and Canadian operations. The product line centres on plasma cutting systems and multi-function machines that add drilling and milling to plasma cutting, and Kinetic also lists laser cutting systems.

The Kinetic K2500 is a production plate cutting system that runs plasma and oxy-fuel with bevel heads and a built-in drilling turret, on tables up to 18 ft x 100 ft. It is listed with our CNC plasma tables, although its size and drilling turret make it a plate-shop machine rather than a light fabrication table.
