About Bystronic

Bystronic is a Swiss sheet metal machinery group headquartered in Niederönz. The name first appeared in 1964, when Bystronic Maschinen AG was founded in Bützberg to make glass processing machines; it combines the names of founders Byland, Schneider and Trösch. The first Bystronic laser cutting system followed in 1984, Bystronic Laser AG was set up in Niederönz in 1986, and bending was added in 1997 with the takeover of Hämmerle in Zofingen. The former Conzzeta holding, owner since 1994, renamed itself Bystronic AG in 2021, and its shares trade on the SIX Swiss Exchange.

Today the range covers fiber laser cutting for sheet and tube, press brakes, loading, storage and sorting automation, and BySoft programming software. Niederönz remains a production site, and group companies are registered in Gotha (Germany), Cazzago San Martino and San Giuliano Milanese (Italy), Tianjin and Shenzhen (China) and Hoffman Estates, Illinois. The 2024 annual report says Chinese production is moving from Shenzhen to Foshan and gives an average of 3,268 full-time equivalent staff. Our listings include two Bystronic models. The ByStar Fiber 6225 is an enclosed large-format fiber laser for 6.2 x 2.5 m sheets, with laser sources up to 30 kW; similar machines are on the fiber laser page.
