About BLM Group
BLM Group is an Italian manufacturer of machines for tube, wire and sheet metal processing. The parent company, BLM S.p.A., is located in Cantù, and the group's own timeline begins in 1962 with its first automatic tube bending machine. A branch in São Paulo, Brazil, followed in 1970, and in 1993 the group acquired Adige Sala S.p.A. of Levico Terme. BLM reports more than 1,000 employees and 270,000 m² of industrial space.
The work is split between three companies. BLM S.p.A. covers tube and wire bending, end-forming and 5-axis laser cutting; Adige S.p.A. handles tube cutting by laser and by conventional methods; Adige-Sys S.p.A. builds combined sheet and tube laser cutters and the large-diameter Lasertube systems. CNC sawing machines complete the range. The US subsidiary, BLM Group USA, was established in 2001 and sits in Novi, Michigan.
The BLM LT14 FIBER is a heavy-duty 3D fiber tube laser for tube and beams up to 355 mm (14 in) in diameter and 100 kg/m, with a 3D head that bevels and cuts inclined joints along the bar. Other models are on our tube laser cutting machines page. For shops that still cut sections with a saw and drill holes as a separate step, the tube laser vs saw and drill comparison lays out the trade-offs.
A good fit for
- Structural and heavy equipment shops cutting large tube and beams up to 14 in
- Fabricators replacing separate saw, drill and cope steps with one laser pass
- Frame builders who need bevelled and inclined cuts for welded joints
