About Altendorf

Altendorf dates its first machine to 1906, when Wilhelm Altendorf, working in Berlin, designed a circular saw that guided the workpiece past the blade on a sliding carriage. Adding the ability to cut at 90 degrees to that straight-edge design produced the sliding table saw principle the company still builds on. Altendorf GmbH is now based in Minden, Germany.

The Altendorf Group has two brands: Altendorf for sliding table saws and Hebrock for edge banding machines, after the takeover of Maschinenbau Hebrock GmbH in 2018. Production is split across three sites. Minden builds the F 45 and WA 80, Hüllhorst in Germany makes the Hebrock F- and K-Series edgebanders, and a plant in Qinhuangdao, China, produces the WA 6, WA 8 and F 92T. The group also sells MAGIS optimization software and states that it employs more than 360 people and has sold 250,000 machines.
